On a PC based system, such an event as a person entering through a controlled door would be sent to the PC and would be time and date stamped. The software would provide a full live audit trail of every event that occurs on the system, notifying the operator of any alarms such as a door being held, forced or left open. The database can then be interrogated to produce various reports such as a list of everyone in a specific department or who was the last person to entry a specific area.
In addition to the above, various access control software allow for site plans to be added to the system.
